Morning Program
The Apple Orchard School consists of four age groups. Pre-Class I accommodates
children turning 3 years old between September 1st and December 31st.
Class I is for 3-4 year olds. Class II has 4-5 year old children and
Class III accepts 5-6 year olds.
Our school program runs Monday thru Friday from 8:15am to 12:00pm.
Class III children stay until 2:00 pm on Wednesdays and Fridays (with
an option to join Sandwich Club until 4:00pm at a special rate).
Pre-Class I program is often the first school
experience for young threes. The primary focus for this group
is to develop their social awareness skills and foster confidence.
Class I program promotes a child's self-image
as a capable and confident learner, who is able to interact with his/her
environment. Children are provided with opportunities to work
and play independently and cooperatively.
Class II program is structured to help each child
further enhance their skills in all developmental areas
including: cognitive, social, emotional, and physical. It is often
an extension to their three year old year. Academically, the children
become more focused and independent.
Class III program continues the process
that began in preschool. We carefully nurture a positive attitude toward
ourselves, our peers, and learning. Play is "work" for the young
child. We believe children learn best through hands-on, active,
concrete learning and by taking risks. Children develop and learn
in a multitude of ways and at their own pace. Our Class III program
is designed to be flexible enough to meet each child's developmental
style and pace.
