Most American kids don’t spend large chunks of their day catching salamanders and poking sticks into piles of fox poop. In a nation moving toward greater standardization of its public-education system, programs centered around getting kids outside to explore aren’t normal. https://www.theatlantic.com/education/archive/2018/04/early-childhood-outdoor-education/558959/

This article shows how important outdoor learning can be for young children. A play-in-the-mud approach helps kids build curiosity and connect with nature, which is often missing in regular classrooms. It would be great if more schools included this kind of learning in their programs. I hope the Wikipedia page for school education starts showing more examples of outdoor based learning like this.
